The Japanese corporations paid 500 million yen to the Chinese labors of “花冈” case

   Reported by Chen Tieyuan: On Nov 29th of last year, the “花冈” case received a complete settlement in the form of compromise. The Japanese 鹿岛Construction Corporation paid 500 million yen to the victims via the Chinese Red Cross. The compensation will be managed as “the花冈Peace and Friendship Fund” by the Chinese Red Cross.
  On Dec 29th of last year, the accusers group of 花冈case hold a meeting in Beijing. At the meeting, they elected the committeemen of “the 花冈Peace and Friendship Fund Management Committee”. Besides the Chinese representatives, including Li Shaohai and Wang Hong, the representatives of “the 花冈Victims Sodality”, the General Secretary of Chinese Red Cross, there were also Japanese representative such as the top lawyer of 花冈case lawyers group, 新美隆.
  It is reported that the 鹿岛Corporation had remitted the 500 million yen to the appointed bank account conforming to the compromise terms on Dec 11th last year. The committee mentioned above will start to run the fund after the New Year Festival.
  There was a rumor previously: the 鹿岛Corporation got the agreement of the accusers under the condition that the accusers did not know the content of the compromise. On this rumor, Li Shaohai, the representative of the accusers, said: “This is a very mistake. We knew the content of the compromise very well and signed after the consistent agreement. There is not the problem of being deceived.”
